7th Annual Women of Prince George’s Conference Celebrates Professional Women Around the Beltway

GREENBELT, MD (April 14, 2017)- A popular quote states “Empowered Women, Empower Women” and the Women of Prince George’s is using that very standard to inspire their 7th Annual Women’s Conference. On May 18th, 2017, the Women of Prince George’s Women’s Conference will be held at the Greenbelt Marriott from 8:30 AM-3:00 PM, with a theme of “We Rise: Together, Relevant and Victorious”.
The annual event consists of a full-day of successful speakers, engaging sessions, exclusive door-prizes, and other opportunities to connect business women and entrepreneurs in the Greater Prince George’s County area. The event will be hosted by Tisha Lewis, Reporter and Anchor of Fox 5, and Tara Gates Anderson, Founder and CEO of the media conglomerate, TGAUnified. Spotlight speakers include Karen Maria Alston, Copa Style Magazine’s 2015 Woman of the Year and Founder of The Spectrum Circle, Marissa Levin, 20-year CEO of Successful Culture and Best-Selling author, and more. This one woman fictional play is inspired by the life of Hatshepsut, who is known as one of the greatest women in history. In this play, the audience will be able to step into the shoes of a woman who strategically mastered her adversities to emerge as the first female ruler of ancient Egypt.

"I'm very excited to bring my one woman show to the DMV-area," Esosa E., Creator of The Woman Who Would Be King said, "Although I am from here, this is the first time I've had the privilege to share my work with the community. Hatshepsut's story really resonates with me and I am honored to share it for Women's History month. She's a woman who defied the traditions of her time, took power, and ruled peacefully for over twenty years. Right now our world needs more stories and examples of female leadership.”

Esosa E. is an award winning producer, writer, actress, health expert and fashion designer. She has been named an "Afro-Renaissance Woman" by the Weekend Argus and a "Young African Visionary," by Obaasema Magazine. She has been included in Applause Africa's list of "30 Most Intriguing Africans in New York," and featured in The Roots list of "10 African Artists and Entrepreneurs You Should Know." Continuing to bring the Excitement of Independent Fashion Back to the Nation’s Capital!
Washington, DC (February 20, 2017)- Who runs the world? GIRLS!” Or is it boys? Well perhaps from Feb. 27th-March 5th you will find out. Indie Fashion Week returns with Cycle 4 and will be hosting several events throughout Washington, DC. For Cycle 4, the fashion series theme is Haute Boys & Girls: Battle of the Sexes! The entire week will be  filled with various events such as the kick-off with Model Monday, a Fashion Pop Up Shop, Fashion Night Out + More!

Indie Fashion Week  was created by Harley Morgan and Terrance Payton (ROE the Agency, LLC) to create a fresh look at independent fashions who may not be able to gain big recognition when they first launch on the scene.
