Top 3 Media Pitching Mistakes

So, let’s talk about it! How to Steer Clear of these Top 3 Common Mistakes!

Alright, are you ready to level up your media pitching game? Whether you’re a PR PRo or DIYing your media pitches, avoiding these common mistakes can make a world of difference in your success.

Here are some key tips to keep in mind:

1️⃣ Lack of Personalization: Do some quick research and find their names! Don’t you always appreciate when someone greets you by your name?

2️⃣ Grammatical Errors/Copy & Paste: Pay attention. Use Grammarly ladies & gents. Also, if using copy/paste, BOLD the areas you will need to switch out

3️⃣ Clear Story/Angle: Make sure that it makes sense. Take some time and read your email back to yourself and ask “Hmmm, do you think this is newsworthy and my message is clear?”

Remember, media pitching is an art, not a science. Each pitch is an opportunity to build a valuable relationship and get your message out there. By avoiding these common mistakes, you will ultimately make it easier for the Journalist and YOU as well. 🏆
